Crying Like There’s No Tomorrow

Being a 5 months and 2 weeks old baby seems to be a tough thing to do. It is the time she has to learn and show her development skills a lot. It is the time the baby has to show her authority and rights!

BabyShasha shows a lot of progress lately. Among the skills she develops are grabbing objects, playing with her blanket or any cloth given to her, lifting up both her legs and holding on to them, “walking” and “jumping” in the walker, spreading her arms widely towards a person who would never say “no” to carry her, and greeting and yapping at objects.

Some of her favourites that involves bullying people around her would be kicking Mommie off the bed, waking up whoever sleeping next to her, wakes Mommie up with an act of hunger for milk but instead goes back to sleep.

One incident that I should never forget happened yesterday evening. BabyShasha cried so much in the car out of no reason. She’s not taking the milk bottle, she didn’t want to be lifted up, she didn’t want to look out, she didn’t want people to sing to her, no rattler, no toys, nothing! Just cried out loud like there’s no tomorrow. It was quite a wait in the traffic queue, at around 7pm. It was not so bright outside too since it started to drizzle. No tricks on earth can make BabyShasha quiet, and she didn’t even cry out for milk! We had no idea what she wanted.

Like it or not, we had to switch driver. Mommie cannot play driver anymore. Mommie to the rescue! Switched on the emergency indicator, ran out of the car to the passenger’s side, picked up this baby, and quickly jumped into the seat, and Mommie started to undress! Oopps…! Not quite, but almost. The moment I held her, BabyShasha started looking for the “milk factory”. Urgh! Good thing I’m the type who doesn’t really mind a bit of “exposure” in such dire state. Hahaha…!

There are some other skills BabyShasha has now. She shows interest in driving on Mommie’s steering wheel and makes the “phbbbt!” sounds with her tounge while driving. At the same time, she sprayed around as much saliva as possible. This I found out yesterday. It could be a new lesson she picked up in her “sleeping school” (nursery). Normally she just “gggrrrr…” all the way, not “phbbbt!”

Being double cranky and crying like mad is one thing I find very interesting. All the while BabyShasha is very well behaved, cranky a bit but up to certain limit. She knows when to stop being cranky. Yet, this time round her crankiness is too much. Yesterday’s incident is not the first time. Normally she would act that way if her sleep is disturbed or she’s cranky to go to sleep. Most of the time is because we’re not yet home to make her sleep! Imagine picking her up from the nursery after a long hour of work in office, and she did the same crankiness in the middle of the journey home. Plus, there’s no suitable place to stop along the way.

Up to one extend, I had to carry her while driving!
