Come Dine with Me...

Here yee! Here yee! To all babies and mommies...

I have found a way to make your favourite dining experience baby-friendly. I know for sure because I'm a baby and I love what Mommie has fed me at fine Indian cuisine restaurants.

1. Fish Tikka:
Fresh white meat boneless fish, lightly marinated and garnished, grilled to perfection. Mommie has to cautiously choose the middle part of the meat that is not totally affected by the spices, smashed it with her fingers or spoon, and feed me. Yummy yummy... but remember that it would cause a baby like me feeling thirsty. So feed us babies with a lot of plain water!

2. Fresh Cow's Milk:
Every visit is not complete without at least some gulps of nice, fresh cow's milk. Please bear in mind that no additives should be included in the milk. This means no sugar, mommies...

3. Idly with Cow's Milk:
Idly is known to be soft and dry, like bread. Thus, to make it softer and easier to swallow for babies like me, mommies need to soak the idly in fresh cow's milk that the restaurant could provide. The texture will become very soft like cereal or porridge. Yet, don't add too much of milk, because it wouldn't be fun for babies to chew with her new teeth! ;-)

4. Chicken 65:
Small pieces of boneless chicken, marinated with spices and deep fried into perfection. This dish might be a bit spicy. Mommies have to try this first before deciding to serve babies. If the middle part of the meat has less effect of the spices, then it can be considered suitable for adventurous babies like me. It is a bit dry, so get some plain drinking water ready for us!

I guess this is quite a long list for the moment. I will tell you more when I discover some more fun in fine dining. Thank you.

Cutting Tooth

BabyShasha has officially cut her first tooth last week. We are not so sure about the exact date, but on the day Mommie noticed it was the first day she was willing to open her mouth.

Previously she gritted her gums so much, feeling uneasy when Mommie wanted to see her gums. Every time Mommie asked her to open her mouth, she would turn her head. Now, she's proudly showing off her little bottom tooth when Mommie wants her to.

Last week itself, Mommie was very sure that BabyShasha cut her first tooth. Yet, when Mommie told AbbuMama, he said "no lah!" He was so confident that her favourite baby hasn't have any tooth. Mommie gave up and let it be.

Until this evening... This was the final confirmation time! AbbuMama took a torch light, Mommie held BabyShasha, and "aaahhhh....?"

Tada...!!! "There's a tooth! There's a tooth!" AbbuMama shouted in victory! He's so overjoyed that he hugged and kissed BabyShasha so much. "You're a big baby now!"

OK, as a real parent, Mommie felt a bit awkward. "I told you she has a tooth! :-p"

As for the record, BabyShasha's first tooth is the front right tooth on the bottom gum.

After the discovery, Mommie had to turn a deaf ear when AbbuMama started tutoring BabyShasha on how to make full use of her tooth by biting and pulling Mommie's 'toot' while breast-feeding. :-S

Ada la....

Every morning, while waiting for Mommie to get ready for work, BabyShasha takes her own sweet time exploring the bedroom. From checking out the floor tiles, to inspecting the drawer knobs, and her favourite experiment is on how loud the furniture can shout when she whacks them.

Yesterday, she was cautiously banging on the plastic drawer that didn't give much noise. Then she turned her attention to the aluminium/plastic cabinet next to it, which gave a very loud noise even with the same pressure of banging. She noticed that the sounds they gave were different, so she used both her hands and made some rhythm on each object... pat pat on the left drawer, pat pat on the right cabinet. Satisfied with her test, she crawled across the room to the next victim - the wardrobe.

As mentioned before, BabyShasha can do multi-tasking. During her inspection and exploration, her mouth would be yapping all the way... I hear a few words, and I respond to her regardless of her not paying attention to me. Here is how the "conversation" sounds like:

BabyShasha: Adaa... adaa...
MommieSha: Ada apa?
BabyShasha: Adaa laa...
MommieSha: Ada apa?
BabyShasha: Adaa laa...
MommieSha: Ada la? Tak mau bagitau Mommie ker? (You don't wanna tell Mommie, is it?)
BabyShasha finally noticed that Mommie was talking to her, looked up with a blank stare.
MommieSha couldn't help giggling seeing BabyShasha looking so cute in her blank stare!
MommieSha: Hehehe... :D

Can't stand seeing BabyShasha's cunning development...

BabyShasha's July Photos Collection...

I've been missing from the blog for quite some time. So I owe you (readers) some of my action packed photos for your viewing... Have fun!

Beauty sleeping, as Mommie calls this. See the things around me in this pic? Those are my toys - the Uno Stacko blocks, the TV remote control, the Astro remote control, Mommie's handphone... :-D

Close up of the "beauty sleeping". Don't I look helplessly pretty in this? ;-)

I guess one of the reasons people think I'm a boy is because of this kind of act I like to do. I can't wait for months and months to start standing... I want to learn to stand, now!

Everytime Mommie makes me sit in this chair, I know what to expect - FOOD! Yumm yumm...! But I'm kinda bored munching and waiting for Mommie to feed me spoon after spoon. I'm used to multi-tasking, so I prefer playing with the blocks while eating. Hehehe...!!

Like baby like Mommie... I would like to make this statement: "It's Mommie who copy cat my sleeping position, not me copying Mommie! Thank you." :-p

New hairstyle version 2. Mommie was melting like butter in hot pan seeing me in this hairstyle when she picked me up from the nursery one day. I think she took about 5 to 8 photos of me in this hair tied "up". Yet, only in this photo I had some tiny smile on my face...

Neat look version 1. AbbuMama was playing doll with me, wanted to make me look like "moustache-less little Hitler", grinned like mad, and then teased me in my new look. Mommie just shook her head, wondering who is the kiddy - the big bear or the little Hitler?

This is another prank AbbuMama made of my look... when I was sleeping, some more! Gggrrr...

Close up look of the hair. I look like a potato head growing grass on top! Yet, I'm still cute, aren't I? ;-)

I can tear things already. Mommie starts worrying now. Oh! This tissue-tearing is nothing! I've torn Mommie's drawing and documents as well! Muahahaha...!!! (Little horns growing on my head.)

Don't I look cute in this nice frock? Mommie brought me 'lepak-ing' during weekends, and this is among a few new 'lepak-ing' clothes I have...

My latest act since Friday, 14th July 2006... I can stand with support, and soon I will learn to walk with support! Wow wee!

Neat look version 2. I look like a doll.... don't I? Really, tell me... don't I look like a doll? Of course I am! I'm MommieSha's baby doll... ;-D Hehehe...

First Meeting with Godmother's Family

Last night we went to a house-warming kenduri tahlil at BabyShasha's Godmother's new house in Bukit Jelutong. It took us approximately 30 minutes to reach there, and we were among the first guests to arrive.

BabyShasha was a bit excited, no doubt about that. She gave friendly smiles the whole time and gave a shy gesture (hiding her face on Mommie's shoulder) when the people around her tried to take her away from her Mommie.

She supposed to be taking her one-hour nap between 6pm - 8pm, yet she forced herself to stay awake due to her curiosity on the buzzing people surrounding her. When there were less people around her, she started crawling around and yap yap yap... Of course, only Mommie noticed that. Others could only see from far, in order not to distract her from her playful act.

During the prayers, I entertained BabyShasha in the guest room. After some time, she started to ransack some plastic covers on the floor and crawl around. At one point of time, she slowly tried to crawl out of the room. She brought her head out of the room, turned left and right to see whether the coast is clear...

I was just monitoring her to see how far she would go. Hearing no warning from her Mommie, BabyShasha curiously sneeking out towards the praying group. I quickly grabbed her, who was about to speed up her crawl, and brought her back to the room. "Aha! This time, no more running around... You should sleep!"

Making an anxious BabyShasha sleep is a huge task. She was full of sweat, her eyes were reddish due to exhaustion, she started scratching her head like mad, sucking on Mommie was the only thing she knew to make her sleep, and the list goes on... BabyShasha fell asleep in my arms on the lap, making my legs numb. I tried to put her down on the mattress twice, yet to no avail. She woke up due to the sudden change in position, and demanded Mommie for sucking. :-S

Eventually, BabyShasha woke up after an approximately 30-minute nap, and in full energised mode. "It's time for Mommie to eat...," I told her cheerfully, with a concerned mind thinking, "How the heck am I gonna eat?!"

Fortunately, BabyShasha's Godmother was there to save the day. She took BabyShasha away and tried her best to let me disappear from BabyShasha's view. One thing about BabyShasha, if she doesn't see her Mommie, she would be very behaved and enjoys anyone's company. Very independent, some have said.

I took the advantage and gobble up as quickly as I could because there's no telling when BabyShasha would go cranky again. During my meal, I could see that my baby was happily meeting all the guests and playing with her newly-known family - her Godmother, AuntieHafee and the daughter, SisYana. There were some other children there who enjoyed her company, playing peek-a-boo and swinging around making BabyShasha laughed the night away...

Leaving the house was a bit difficult for BabyShasha, since it was a fun experience for her. In addition to that, it was her sleeping time, which made her go cranky all the way home... The moment we reached home, both of us went straight to bed.

The day ended for us at sharp 10:30PM.

Exhausted mother of one,
