My Interests

My interests vary in this 3-dimension world. It depends on how I see my exploration fits.

Here are some of my interests:

The repelling interest: I don't know why, I like objects with odd shapes and contrast colours.

The risky interest: Babies, don't do this in your Mommie's car. It takes an expert like me to drive with one hand and holding Ambi-Pur in another hand...

Tasty interest: I find button nose very tasty. This is how I show that I love someone. Yup! Even Mommie gets it from me every morning...

The "move" interest: I believe that knocking on the dashboard will bring me to places.

Multiple interests: If I can do multi-tasking, this is nothing...

Vertical interest: I don't always go flat on my bum, you know... ;-)

The fly-over interest: Launching myself from the bed and into the cot next to it!

My First... Tattoo?

It wasn't me! It was AbbuMama, who put this tattoo on me! Hehehe...

I wanted the teddy bear tattoo, but it's too huge to be on my arm. The tattoo lady suggested to put it on my back, but AbbuMama said that it would be under my clothes most of the time, "No syok lah"!

So I got a black rose tattoo stamped on my left arm... check it out! ;-)

Don't I look "macho" with this tattoo? ;-)

Don't worry, Mommie. It only lasts for a week...

Hanging out at The Curve

Mommie always brings me to The Curve for hang out. The reason is simply because The Curve (and the nearby Ikea and Ikano Power Centre) is "baby-friendly".

There are nursery rooms with comfortable couch for Mommie to breast-feed me (yup! I'm still breast-fed! ;-D), and diaper-changing cabinets with proper washing basins.

We always go there, especially when we feel like tagging along AbbuMama who always spend time using the wi-fi services at the Coffee Bean (or Starbucks, depending on the situation). AbbuMama is so concentrated with his work, that we have hours and hours of loafing around... ;-)

Yesterday, Mommie thought it would be a boring day at home... until AbbuMama called out "Jom! The Curve!" Wow wee...! Mommie quickly got ready, and I just waited patiently.

Patiently waiting for Mommie...

"Ooo la laa..." I love to sing in the swing.

Upon arriving The Curve, I was fast asleep so Mommie just waited for me to wake up at the Coffee Bean. It seemed that without me, Mommie wouldn't be having fun loafing around the mall! ;-)

Once I got up, I was a bit cranky because the stroller was a bit hot, and the spotlight that they had at the restaurant was heating my stroller. Mommie quickly picked me up and we went for a short walk.

There was a huge crowd at the lobby. It seemed that there's some "Little Chef" competition going on there. They also had range of products for kids, even toys for babies like me! Mommie started to show me one toy after another. I liked what I saw!

On the way back to the Coffee Bean, we bumped into the "Merdeka" clown, balancing a plate with a long rod. Funny looking guy, but he didn't amuse me. :-S

The non-amusing "Merdeka" clown. :-(

We went back to where AbbuMama was waiting with hands on his hips. "Where have you been? The milk is getting cold!" Err..., AbbuMama preparing milk? Hhmm...

Mommie fed be a bit of milk. After some time she fed me chicken and pasta. I ate quite a lot. Then we moved around some more.

Mommie brought me to Anakku, since she got a message from the brand manager saying that there's some sales going on there. She started to take photos of the things AbbuMama was looking for to buy me, and sent MMS to him with the details. One of the items was this:

Am I getting this for my birthday? Wow wee!

These phones have a voice recording feature, so Mommie can record her voice for me to hear whenever I feel lonely. Err... am I getting one? :-S

These food containers have a sucker bottom, easy for me to be fed in the car!

We returned to AbbuMama's hibernation place, and he fed me a bit of pandan muffin and diluted orange juice. I was too active to be fed anything, then!

After a few hours in The Curve, we headed towards our car. Along the way, AbbuMama carried me on his shoulders. Surprisingly, I still didn't feel amused. :-p

"Up and above the sky so high... Eh, wrong verse. Up and above AbbuMama!"

First Ride in LRT

I went for my first ride in LRT on 19th August 2006. The ride was from KL Sentral to Masjid Jamek, and back to KL Sentral.

Japanese look - at KL Sentral

During the both journeys, I stood in the front coach, facing the railtrack. So, I could see the whole journey where the LRT was heading.

Kuala Lumpur view from LRT

From KL Sentral, we went through a tunnel before arriving Masjid Jamek station.

Entering the tunnel...

By the time we reach Masjid Jamek, I was feeling hot that I had to remove my hat. Masjid Jamek LRT station has a huge fan, which I greeted "hello".

Fan breeze... aahhh...!

We went to a shop, quite a distance from the LRT station. The shop was full of sweets, candies, and it even had lots of baby food and milk for me!

Mommie started to survey the price that was very satisfactorily cheaper than outside price, almost as cheap as supplier's price! I could see Mommie gave that "mind-churning I-have-an-idea" look. Hhmm...

We bought some stuff for household such as pickles, sweets, and... nothing for me?! :-S

Observing..., surveying..., good pricing, good pricing...

While paying for the goods, I noticed that the cashier calculated the amount correctly.

They've calculated correctly... Confirmed!

I was a bit tired and sleepy when we were walking back from the shop to the LRT station. Luckily we met my friend, the big fan at the LRT station. I relieved my stress in front of the fan. Thank you, Fan!

Thank you, Fan! You're truly a friend! ;-)

When we arrived KL Sentral, Mommie seemed excited seeing so many "little dresses" that suit me, especially those with bare-backs. Thus, we bought 2 dresses for me - one bright magenta spaghetti-strips dress with colourful flowers, and another one orange with red mixture bare-back dress with white flowers.

Once we were back in the car, I quickly suckity-suck and fast asleep. Such a tiring adventure I had...

Yumm... yumm...

When I love the food I eat, I would make sounds like "chup! chup!" and demand more feeding of the food by shouting, "Ta! Ta!"

Lately, Mommie doesn't have to bring or pack my baby food from home if she brings me to hang out in the mall etc. All she has to do is drop by any restaurants that sell pasta, and search for the right food for me.

Among my favourites are:

1. Coffee Bean Shredded Grilled Chicken with Pasta:
Normally comes with Roasted Chicken with Mushroom Fussini, or as addition to any vegetarian pasta. The fussini meal would have white cream sauce, which Mommie let me taste a bit with the chicken. Today, I tried a little smudge of tomato sauce from Mommie's Tomato and Herb Lingunie with added Chicken. Yumm yumm... I love the chicken, because it's lightly salted with a little bit of pepper taste. Yumm yumm...! The pasta is nice too!

2. Delifrance Chicken and Mushroom Pasta:
I just tried this twice so far. We rarely go Delifrance unless we're stucked at Bangsar Shopping Complex. Most of the time we choose to go to Coffee Bean, but Coffee Bean in Bangsar Shopping Complex is too crowded and noisy for baby like me. Same as the previous meal, I had the chicken from the pasta.

3. KFC Whipped Potato:
The whipped potato has a light taste of pepper too, and it's not salty. Just asked for Whipped Potato without Gravy, and baby like me can enjoy a filling meal of potatoes... Sometimes Mommie mixed the potato with my bottle milk, especially if I refuse to finish the milk. The mixture would be very moist and soft, like a baby food should be. Yummy yumm!

OK, I got to go now... Time for my slumber after a good chicken and pasta... Zzzz...

Vocal Test

Before I forget, let me list down BabyShasha's vocal test that she's performing these few weeks.

Each test is taken for a day up to 5 days per vocal, ranging from soft tone, loud tone, high pitch, strong and accented intonation, excited intonation, pampery intonation, and urgency tone with facial expression...

The test requires her to keep on repeating the same vocal or sound every hour of every day, minus the time she's in deep sleep.

1. Ta ta ta...

2. Aa aa aahh...

3. Allaa... laa laa...

4. Da da da...

5. Ba ba ba...

6. Pa pa pa...

7. Ssss... ssss...

8. Va va va...

Sadly, there's no "ma ma ma..." :-(

Bunny Bully

Mommie said she's bringing me to an Animal Park during the next holiday. So, she insists that I get used to see fuzzy furry creatures before the real safari experience.

There we were, moving around in Ikano Power Centre, and into the Pet Safari World to catch a glimpse of a few creatures there. I felt like I was put under test or something... :-S

The first group of pets is the little furry guys like hamsters, guinea pigs, hedge hogs and bunnies! "Hey... the bunnies look familiar... I think I saw them before!"

My eyes were glued on the bunnies in the open cage. Some are hopping around, some are cuddly sleeping, and some are munching.

AbbuMama caught one little grey bunny and put it in front of me, right in front of my nose. He asked me to touch it and feel the furry texture of its skin. I less bothered about that little bunny, because my attention was on the big bunnies that were hopping around in the cage.

AbbuMama insisted that I touch that little bunny and he's persuading me for a long time in front of me. He even let the bunny's fur touched my skin and I still cared less.

Eventually, AbbuMama put the little bunny on my stroller dish stand, and the bunny seemed to move a bit towards my hand trying to make friends.

I was still hypnotised by the big bunnies in the cage, when I suddenly felt a furry ticklish feeling on my right hand. Without even turning my head, I grabbed the little bunny's head with my right hand and threw it away... in less than 2 seconds!

Mommie and AbbuMama had a shock of their life, it seemed. They felt pity on the little bunny instead of me. What? They think I'm scared of that little furry creature, huh? :-p

After some time, moving around and seeing other creatures, my attention was still on the big bunnies. AbbuMama took the little bunny again and showed it in front of my face, again to make me touch it. Pity the little creature, trembling in fear because it can still remember how torturous and scary it was to be thrown away by me...

So, Mommie... Are we having a pet? ;-D

A Day at Toys 'R' Us

It was one of those weekends, when Mommie didn't know how to make me sleep. Thus, she brought me to Toys 'R' Us to play with the toys there.

I don't think she's testing my interest for her to buy me one, though... but at least I could get
myself play more toys than I could ever imagine!

There's a big table there, just the nice height for me to stand and support myself

The first toy I tried once entered the shop was this one. It has all the musical instruments built into one! Since it's in the box, I didn't get the chance to really figure out how to play it.

The familiar faces... "I know them, Mommie! I know them! They are celebrities!!" I guess Mommie can only hear me shriek and laugh instead of those words I just said...

Toys 'R' Us has my favourite "Ernie" puppet, which I call "Fuzzy". Mommie let me played with Fuzzy's twin while we move around in the shop.

Play house... "Open... Close... Open... Close..." That's what Mommie taught me when she opened and closed the key box at home. Now, theory is put into practice. Hehehe...

I enjoyed playing this most. I love banging, and this toy gave multiple sounds of banging! Wow wee! :-D

Give and Take

It all started with throwing things when she doesn't want them. Knowing BabyShasha, I believe that she doesn't mean to throw anything. It's just that when she put things aside, they end up falling hard on the floor with a loud thud. To everybody around her, it would sound like she's really throwing things as if letting out her anger.

"It just slipped off from my hand, Mommie..." I guess that's what she says everytime she looks at me with a blank stare. "I didn't mean to throw it."

For the past 2 weeks, BabyShasha slowly learns how to give an object to another person. She just holds the object towards the person she wants to give to. In order to teach her the right way, I hold the object in her hand and say "Thank you", before taking the object away.

In return, I give the object back to her and say "Thank you", before letting go of the object for her to take. BabyShasha would be smiling away, trying to digest what is taught.

In the process of learning, most of the time BabyShasha would "pretend" that she's giving the object to me, and yet she takes it back after Mommie says "Thank you". This is followed by the grinning and baby laughter. Hhmm... :-S

No Tan, Please!

BabyShasha and MommieSha spent the weekend at GrandAunt Umi's place in Rawang. GrandAunt Umi's grandchildren came down from Taiping to spend a week there - CousinDanish aged 3 and CousinHyriena who just turned 2 yesterday (AuntieMin's children).

BabyShasha was so clingy to her Mommie. She didn't even allow Mommie to go washroom or take bath. She forced herself to stay awake because she's afraid Mommie would leave her when she sleeps off. The only trick Mommie had was to drive her in the car to doze her off. Thus, Saturday we went shopping at Wangsa Maju to mainly make her sleep.

BabyShasha slept during the whole journey to the destination. She woke up when Mommie shifted her into her stroller. After some time she dozed off again during the whole time shopping. On the way back, she's fully awake. It was a bit hectic because we were facing the sun most of the time, and BabyShasha doesn't like sunlight on her face.

Yup! In other words, she likes to stay fair... No tan, please!

CousinHyriena likes babies, but she's a bit shy. She would only play peek-a-boo with BabyShasha from a far distance... like 2-3 feet away? She's a bit less active by Sunday because she missed her father (who went for a sports camp).

CousinDanish, on the other hand, is too naughty and stubborn, like how most boys are... He likes babies, too. It's just the way he shows it is too risky for any adults to watch without shouting at him not to proceed. He tends to play cycling around baby's crawling floor, throwing the little soft boards puzzle on the baby like a confetti, grabbing his toys back from baby's hands, hitting the balloon in front of baby with a racket, whatever stunts he could think of.

BabyShasha showed her preference in adults who can be friends with her and carry her - she only favours fair people... No tan, please!

"I noticed before, she only likes white people!" said AuntieMin when BabyShasha easily let a visiting sister-in-law to carry her without any issues. The sister-in-law (AuntieShirin) is very fair.

Urgh! "Ini macam susah laaa...." MommieSha would be saying over and over again...

In our family, there are 2 possibilities of genes inheritance - either you turn out to be fair like BabyShasha, MommieSha, AuntieBab, AuntieShahnaz, CousinNisya and GrandMama; or you turn out to be a little bit dark like GrandAunt Umi, AuntieMin, UncleAm, whom we met in Rawang this time round. "Great!" :-S

"You don't like us black people, eh?" GrandAunt Umi teased BabyShasha like mad because she just couldn't stop crying when GrandAunt Umi or AuntieMin tried to carry her. She pretended to be sulky, didn't want to be friends with BabyShasha.

It all sounds funny until yesterday when MommieSha had to leave her to AuntieMin for some time to get ready for home. In the midst of getting dressed, CousinHyriena started crying. MommieSha had no choice but to let AuntieMin go and BabyShasha was placed on the bed for some time because there's no other place suitable to put her down, not even on the floor.

BabyShasha in her cranky mood, thinking that her Mommie was leaving her, started crying and being cranky like mad, even though the cousins and aunts were no more in sight. She just wanted to crawl towards her Mommie and asked to be carried at all time.

At one point of time, when Mommie was grabbing something in the bag just inches away from the bed, "THOMP!" BabyShasha fell down with her face kissing the carpeted floor. It was the same bed with "springy" edge as the first bed she fell from in the last few months, but it was not the bed we slept the night before. The loud hit was of her forehead.

While consoling the forehead, a bit of blood oozed out from her nose. "Min! Her nose is bleeding!!" MommieSha quickly shouted while turning to the nurse, AuntieMin.

In such chaos, with BabyShasha crying out in pain, and Baby/CousinHyriena crying out in tiredness, even AuntieMin's temper was at stake, "Mom! Where are you? Come in here, we need some extra hands...!" GrandAunt was outside, not really paying attention of what's going on in-house.

We could manage to reduce the bleed and bruise with the ice-pad. BabyShasha was finally pacified with breast-feeding, her favourite choice. Everyone silently felt guilty, but the blame is always heavy upon Mommie's head by others who love her. :-(

After the incident, BabyShasha eventually gave up to slumber. When she woke up, she was so jovial and quickly made friends with CousinHyriena, who was waiting for her at the side of the bed. BabyShasha ate well, drank well, slept well and played well.

The 24-hours monitoring period on whether she would vomit or have fever is over now. Yet, the warnings and advices from all around are repeating on and on... "That's why you should sleep on the floor mattress, not the bed!" "Just leave her on the floor no matter if she bangs herself or if the floor is dirty/dusty." "Let her cry, it's only for a while, just don't leave her on the bed." "You should be more alert!" And on and on...

And it will continue on for the rest of MommieSha's life...

Embarking the 10th month

BabyShasha shows some new skills this week. She shows a lot of bravery too.

1. Claps her hands on her own.
2. Standing with support and slowly walks to the side (only a few steps).
3. Properly picks up the ball and throws it by moving her wrist (not the whole arm).

4. Anxious to walk, starts pushing anything while standing (walking mode) and marches left and right accordingly when being held.

5. Appreciate soft toys, puppets and teddy bears (with big bright noses) by making vocal sound, crawls to the toy and start licking (or salivating over) the nose with a 'pampery' voice - her way of kissing.

6. Having favourites or preferences on adults who can carry her.

7. Glides and controling the speed of her walker very well.

8. Shouts very loudly at one point followed by a soft tone of voice, repetitively to test her vocal.

9. Neatly picks up cards (in the car side compartment) or car key when driving in Mom's car seat.
10. Can differentiate faces - Mommie for food and poopoo, serious stuff; AbbuMama for play, moving around, joy and laughter!

Welcome to a new month, my soon-to-be 10-month Darling...!

Cunning as can be...

BabyShasha is really a cunning baby. She has a new trick in her sleeves.

BabyShasha has a new favourite toy - a miniature soccer ball made of rubber. She loves throwing the ball and sees it bounces.

She likes to throw the ball away so that she can crawl towards the ball, pick it up and throw the ball further. She would be doing this repetitively until we notice where the ball finally goes and where her actual aim is.

BabyShasha's real aim is to throw the ball as near to the TV cable as possible. The moment the ball is near enough, she would quietly sneak behind the TV and try to touch the cable.

When either of us say, "Aaiiikkk...? No!" She would turn from the cable and pretend that she's looking for the ball to play... without looking up at us. When she notices that we're not looking at her, she would sneak behind the TV again, and "Aaiiikk...? No!" will be heard again from us.

One thing amazing is that she really can put a blur face when we give a warning stare at her, as if she's so innocent.

Cunning... :-S
