Little Singer on the Block

BabyShasha loves to sing. While moving around in shopping malls, she would be singing and humming and composing her own songs. Such a cheerful kiddo.

She has her own list of favourite songs (other than the kids' songs on TV), like the "Bartender" song and "Umbrella".

I always tease her, when she starts her pranks, by singing the "ella! eh eh eh..." part of Rihanna's Umbrella song, just to distract her from her actual purpose of screaming. Most of the time it 'almost' works. Hehehe...

Last few days was a little bit of a funny shock to me when she suddenly changed the tune from 'crying' for milk, to 'singing' for milk. As you might have known, her word for milk is "cucu". So her tune was, "cucula! eh eh eh..."

Oh dear! She can write her own lyrics! Hahahaha!!! :)) Just like Mommie :') (Sorry, I just HAVE to say that! Hahaha...)

That's all the little tale of the new singer on the block... "cucula! eh eh eh..."

PS: It's nice to have another "noisy idol" to vibrate the house... ;-)

Cucula! eh eh eh...,

Uncle... Kakak...

Out of the blue she said, "Uncle...! Kakak...!" I was stunned!

We were watching TV and the story-time show was on air, with the American-Chinese host, a Caucasian boy and a Chinese girl telling story on how bricks were made. BabyShasha was very quiet, concentrating on the show when she suddenly called for me to tell me the words she remembered from my teaching last few weeks.

"Mommie!? Uncle...!" BabyShasha pointed to the host of the show. "Kakak...!" She pointed to the girl in the show.

"Yes! You remember! Clever girl! What about the other one? Who is that?" I replied.

BabyShasha kept quiet. I tried to tell her, that was 'abang', but to no avail. Come to think of it, I know why she couldn't grasp the word 'abang'...

It's because the boy in the show had blonde hair! He's not Asian with black hair, and BabyShasha only registers black-haired Malay boy as 'abang'! Hahaha...!!!

Looks like whatever we teach a 2-year-old can be remembered for a long time. I better watch out what I say and what she immitates (when she registered the 'data' in her memory) from now on. Hhmm...

PS: BabyShasha likes to chat with a sentence ends with a nice intonation of "lah". I realise it now that she got it from me, when I used to correct her so much with a sentence ends with "lah". Oh dear... :-S

Little immitator to watch over me?

Similar Traits as TokPak

BabyShasha has never met her grandfather, TokPak. Yet, to certain degree, she inherits the traits of those of her grandfather's.

1. The look:
BabyShasha has many 'faces', to my opinion. At one angle and time, she looks like me; at another angle and time, she looks like her dad; sometimes she looks like her grandmother (TokMama), her second cousin (Rina), her aunt (UmmiNana), etc.

When her UmmiNana (my sister) came to town last few months, UmmiNana said she looks like our dad - TokPak! Even her cousins, Nisya and Irfan agreed the same. Hhmm...

2. The passion:
BabyShasha, like MommieSha and TokPak, loves to be driven around (or drive around) in the car. She just can't stay in the house too long. Out of the blue, she would ask to go out and move around in the car. OK, so it runs in the family... Hhmm...

3. The pride:
(This title might not sound appropriate; just bear with me. Before I start, let me apologise if I offend anybody in this part.)

TokPak used to joke with family members about his 'farting' problem, which we found as a bit disgusting. But hey, everybody has that problem, just that we never admit and never take pride of our ability to release some toxic from our body! Right?

As for BabyShasha, she somehow did the exactly same thing as TokPak used to do... While watching TV yesterday afternoon, BabyShasha patted MommieSha's hand and said, "Mommie?! Poo poo!" while pointing her bum. I said, "No! I don't believe you!"

A second after that, with her pose still pointing to the uplifted side of bum, came a loud, long fart!! I was stunned for a second, and burst into laughter...

Thinking that the 'show' ended there and then, BabyShasha proved me wrong. Again, she patted me, "Mommie?! Poo poo!" and again came the fart. "That's not poo poo la.. that's 'kentut'!" I tried to correct her. She learnt the new word and she repeated the action, "Mommie?! Ehtot!" and again she farted.

This happened for about 5 times, and it just cheered my tiring day with huge laughter that hurt my tummy. The funny thing is the seriousness BabyShasha had on her face when she did the 'show', to mark the importance of the action. Hahaha...!!!

Ah well... That's one of the eccentricity that runs in my family, I guess... and we take pride of it. Hehehe...!!

The Turning Point of Deep Sleep

For the past 2 years, MommieSha has been having sleepless nights due to the frequent wake-up calls from BabyShasha. She wakes up every 2 hours after the first 3-4 hours of sleep.

Sometimes it gets even more frequent, as frequent as half an hour each time. Else, she would be having restless sleep that she cranks so much throughout the night.

Doctors said that this habit will go off when she turns 2 years old. Well...

By the time MommieSha gets used to this sleepless pattern, up to extend that her old-time insomnia comes back, BabyShasha seems to be having tight sleep throughout the night, last night.

She only woke up once for 2 ounces of milk and around 3AM, and that's it. No more crankiness in her sleep as always.

Whereas, MommieSha woke up at 12AM after 3 hours of slumber, and never had a single blink after that until now... Huu huu huu... :((

Embarking Second Year Development

Yesterday is one weekend I can jot down of BabyShasha's development. Here are the stuff she did yesterday (some were old tricks never mentioned here)...

1. As you know, BabyShasha loves drumming. This time round, she dragged our empty rice container (that is taller than half her height) to the living room and start drumming. When we pretended to dance along with her drumming, she expected us to dance every time she drums!! Hhmm...

2. She doodles a lot yesterday. She could hold a pen and doodle on papers, without going across the borders of the paper. Mostly are lines and curves.

3. BabyShasha started dancing a few weeks back by shaking her shoulders. She does it every time she hears an interesting upbeat songs.

4. Normally BabyShasha would inform MommieSha that she wants to have her meal by saying, "Aci!" which means "nasi" or rice. Yesterday, she went to the kitchen cabinet, remove a glass rice plate, carried it all the way to the living room and shouted, "Aci!" Hhmm... So brave.

5. For the past few months, she is reliable to help looking for her lost milk bottles, nursery bag, diapers, MommieSha's handphone, and other stuff around the house.

6. Aside from drumming, BabyShasha likes to play 'symbals' with stainless steel mug lids. She would take them herself from the kitchen cabinet and started to 'cling clang' the instruments to make a noise like symbals. The worse part is when she started screeching on the walls with the lids! "Don't do that when we shift to our new house, OK?!" That's what MommieSha would say.

7. BabyShasha enjoys her bath and can take her own bath... errr, almost. She knows how to use a mug to dig for water and pour it on her body, but by the time the water was poured, it spilled every where around except her own body. Good try, bebe!

8. She can sing now!! Yippee!! She knows every cue of every songs in Playhouse Disney channel that she watches every day. She would sing along with the songs. BabyShasha also reminds MommieSha every time she remembers some songs, such as "5 minutes more", which she pronounces as "ih ih mor!" Hhmm...

There's a lot more and I will continue on this some other day.

Love seeing the lovely one grows...,

Job Vacancy: Furniture QA Engineer

Here ye! Here ye! We would like to announce a job vacancy for the above mentioned post, in order to replace our current employee...

Our current QA Engineer is too attached to our furniture that we find it hard to release her from the job (and the furniture), unless we find her replacement. Please refer to the photos below for more details.

07 Jul 2007: Stool testing, facing the dresser mirror.

07 Jul 2007: Leather lazy couch testing - BabyShasha's favourite - requires longer stride with a bum-twist in climbing.

07 Jul 2007: The not-so-challenging leather single-seater.

30 Jun 2007: MommieSha's favourite Ikea white coffee table, became BabyShasha's body-slider gym. BabyShasha was so fond with this that she started to catwalk on this table. After a few brave act of stomping and jumping on this coffee table, MommieSha had no choice but to put it aside in the store and never be reached by BabyShasha again...

PS: BabyShasha catwalks on MommieSha instead! Boo hoo hoo! :((

Scary but fun to see all this,

05 Jul 2007: Looking cute sitting on MommieSha's lap, ready for lunch...

22 Jul 2007: The first pose is what we call "melangut" in Kedah dialect; It's most recommended to use on couch potatoes.
The second pose is a must for BabyShasha to acknowledge that she knows some celebrities on TV... For example, she was saying "Ee Meow!!" in this to indicate she knows the cat in TV.
Among other famous celebrities are Jojo, Pocoyo, Bow-bow, Bear, Moon... and sometimes, "Mommie" (referring to pretty ladies with boobs! Urgh!).

27 Jul 2007: Another set of "melangut" in front of TV, by BabyShasha. Her favourite couch is her Mommie's lap.

05 Aug 2007: BabyShasha's visit to Borders in The Curve. She likes books, but she's yet to like one long enough to understand what it says...

12 Aug 2007: "Wanna take photo while sitting on Mommie's lap!" Ya ya... regardless what Mommie's wearing eh?

12 Aug 2007: BabyShasha acting innocent sitting on the jeep at The Curve. You should've seen her crank when the jeep never moved! Huh!

15 Aug 2007: Please visit Starfish AT Snore DOT COM for more positions... Hahaha!!!

16 Aug 2007: "Sshhh... Don't tell Mommie's boss that she did this during working hour, using office stationery... Sshhh....!!"

28 Jul 2007: Save the best for last... Photos of BabyShasha with her favourite Chinese-like "tocang dua", with butterfly beads (which is her trademark - Farisha=Butterfly).
